Dr. Pelias
graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors in Biology from Tulane University
in 1984, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma fraternity. She
then graduated from
Tulane University School of Medicine in 1988, and began her General
Surgery
Residency and Research Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University
in Cleveland, Ohio. She then refined her skills as the chief resident
of Surgery at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Pelias
entered solo private practice
in 1994 concentrating on all aspects of General Surgery including
Vascular Surgery, and Cosmetic Surgery. Due to her excellent skills and
warm caring manner, her practice was so successful that over the next 8
years she added 3 partners and built a free standing surgery center.
In
2002
Dr. Pelias returned to her home in New Orleans. Aside from missing New
Orleans and her friends, her parents were growing older and her mother
was ill. She started a private practice in Cosmetic
Surgery in the French Quarter becoming the first Medical Spa in the
city. After the storm, she took a few years off to take care of her
four young children, renovate her home, and concentrate on family
business concerns.
Dr. Pelias is currently a member of the faculty of LSU Medical School, and a surgeon at
Lakeview Hospital for HCA.
Dr.
Pelias' interests include a wide variety of cosmetic surgical issues
including breast augmentation, tattoo removal, laser skin resurfacing,
varicose & spider vein surgery, liposuction, face and eye lifts.
She is also interested in holistic medicine, healthy eating habits and
many other lifestyle concerns.
